Providing a safe house for street girls
Since the turn of the year, FOA has rescued 7 girls off the streets. Our goal for the next 3 years is to rescue at least 30 girls from sexual and physical violence.
Dr. Elikem Tamaklo is the Managing Director of Nyaho Healthcare Limited, a leading healthcare provider in Ghana and the first private Group Medical Practice in the country. He has held this position since 2015. He is currently the 2020/2021 Ghana Chapter Chair of the Young President’s Organisation, YPO and the Inaugural President and member of the Ghana Chapter, Stanford Seed Transformation Network.
Dr. Tamaklo holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Liverpool School of tropical Medicine, amongst others. Dr. Tamaklo has received a number of awards including the AABLA All Africa Young Business Leader of the Year,2018 in recognition of his commitment in the private healthcare sector in Ghana. He is committed to driving positive change in Ghana and believes that the young generation in Africa are the game changers that will see Africa meet its full potential thus his reason for serving on the FOA Board.

In 2023, the popularity of Wellness Wednesday among children living in street situations has grown significantly from an average of 15 attendees to a record 47 attendees.
