Wellness Wednesday
Wellness Wednesdays give street residents a chance to pause, rest and connect with the FOA family
Sir Ben loves getting things done and is an avid Chelsea F.C. fan. A typical day in the life of Sir Ben involves keeping track of expenses, responding to emergency calls, following up on FOA children at the hospital and delivering hot meals in the streets. He also enjoys a good game of Ludo and FIFA.
Ben is hardworking. He pays attention to detail and is passionate about education. He joined Future of Africa in 2019 after working with Lead for Ghana in the Northern. There, he taught Numeracy at Sakasaka Junior High School, an underserved school in Sakasaka. At LFG, he fund-raised and coordinated the renovation of the Sakasaka Library to give his students an opportunity to expand their knowledge and world.
Growing up in Cape Coast, Ben was inspired by his step father who sacrificed so much for him to complete his education. “Without him, I wouldn’t have come this far because my mother didn’t have the means”
Ben was part of the graduating class of 2017 of the University of Cape Coast and graduated with a B.Ed. in Accounting. Memories of his step father fuels his passion to teach and empower the children and youth to pursue education as a means to transform their lives.
Ben believes in making sacrifices to put the needs of FOA children ahead. “FOA is solving genuine problems I am proud to contribute my skills and experiences. I am growing”.
Every moment a child is off the streets and in the classroom is another moment for the Future of Africa.
